About

Experience matters.
So does curiosity.

Zach McArthur
BComm · GAICD · CFP — Founder, ELEVEN26

For more than thirty years I have worked at the intersection of people, leadership, business and decision-making. ELEVEN26 grew out of one question I could not stop asking.

Zach McArthur

The short version

My career in financial services included building and leading a values-driven advice business — one built on trust, integrity and doing the unglamorous parts properly. I led teams, developed people, and worked alongside business owners, executives and boards through the decisions that shaped their organisations and their lives.

Over time it became clear that the advice was the smaller half of the job. What changed people's situations was the thinking we did before any recommendation existed: the questions asked, the assumptions tested, the space to be uncertain without it costing anything.

One question kept getting more interesting. What allows some people, leaders and teams to genuinely thrive, when others with the same resources do not?

ELEVEN26 exists to answer that question with people, one conversation at a time — as a coach, a facilitator and a confidential thinking partner.

The name

Five things I learned the long way.

There was a period of my life that demanded all of these at once, over a long time, with no shortcuts available. It shaped how I think, and it is what this practice is built on.

Resilience

Progress is rarely linear. What matters is what you do after the setback.

Balance

Anything sustained has to fit alongside work, family and everything else. Otherwise it ends early.

Discipline

The result is decided in the ordinary sessions nobody sees, not on the day.

Gratitude

Nobody gets through the hard part unsupported, however individual it looks from outside.

Curiosity

Asking what's actually going on beats pushing harder at the wrong thing.

My Ironman time. Not an elite one — I'm a normal person with a job and a family. But that day, and the year of unremarkable mornings behind it, taught me more about resilience, balance, discipline, gratitude and curiosity than any course could. ELEVEN26 is named after it.

“I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to create the space for better thinking, so you can make better choices.”

How I work
People first

I start with listening, not solutions. The useful question is usually underneath the one on the agenda.

Independent and confidential

Nothing reported upward, no client named without permission, and no stake in your answer beyond it being genuinely yours.

Practical, not theoretical

Commercial experience, strategic insight and a bias towards decisions you can actually act on.

Lasting impact

I build capability and ownership, so change survives long after our work together finishes.
